ENRIQUE DEL CASTILLO: UMBRÁFONO

Enrique del Castillo, Jaen 1982. He began his music studies in the Ramón Garay conservatory for ten years and continued studying art at the universities of Granada, Barcelona and Halle-Saale. Since 2007 he combines two different disciplines and started being interested in experimental musix, forming projets as Las barbas indómitas and Oniropompo.  

In 2016 he received his first prize in the competition Músca Preventica and the first international prize for sound art PowSOLO in 2020. He has received grants for the development of experimental sound projects in Bilbaoarte in 2018 and at the Centro de Contemporary Creation of Andalusia C3A in 2O19. 

He also participate in the “El Jardín de las delicias, un recorrido a través de las obras de la colección SOLO” exposition which took place in Matadero Madrid until February of 2022, with the kinetic sound sculpture – Umbrafono II. 

He has also participated in exhibitions such as the Museé Transitorie in Geneva, Switzerland and in the Ars Santa Monica center in Barcelona. He also presented his performances in film galas such as Festival de Jóvenes Creadores de Granasa, the Catacumba film festival in Valencia or the Fancine Film Festival in Málaga. 

He has developed works together with filmmakers of experimental and exposed between 2011 and 2019 as Miguel A. Puertas developing pieces of expanded cinema and experimental cinema since 2010 (Noctiluca, ONIROKINO)
