THE TWO MAMARRACHOS

Borja Campión and Jaime Sagastibeltza aka Dr. Beat from San Sebastián form the dj couple “Two Mamarrachos”, also known as T2MM. Jaime Sagastibeltza started his DJ career in the 80’s in the middle of the acid House movement. At that time he started DJing in the KU club in San Sebastian, mother of the famous Ku club in Ibiza, where among other styles he was influenced by the Balearic sound. Later, in 1977, he moved to Cambridge (UK) where he joined the “Clueless System” crew and was able to play in numerous clubs in Europe (Madrid, London, Cambridge, Bordeaux, Amsterdam, Paris, Bordeaux, etc.).   In the year 2000 Dr. Beat moved to Ibiza and played in some of its most emblematic clubs such as Amnesia, Privilege, Km5…. That same summer he released with a friend a cut on one side of a self-financed vinyl with a track called “Mediterraneo”. This track became a hit when Dj Harvey included it in one of his CD sessions, becoming a mystery the origin of this track called “Mediterraneo”. This mystery was uncovered in 2007 by the hand of Eskimo records, who casually asking via internet in some forums, and in the most casual way get in touch with Jaime. It was then when they re-released it as a Balearic hit in a 12″ that included a great remix of Dubtribe Soundsystem. Later, in 2012, a remix of the mythical track was included in the triple CD compilation Eskimonde “A Decade Of Eskimo Recordings” by DJ Harvey himself.    In 2004 Dr. Beat joins forces with Borja Campion. Borja is a great musical visionary with a huge record collection, 10.000 vinyls approx…, we can say that he is a vinyl junkie.  When it comes to composing his taste and musical culture facilitate his creativity, and it is worth mentioning that in his DJ sets he combines a refined technique with an incredible energy.   The productions made by Two Mamarrachos in labels like Eskimo, Is it Balearic?, Roam, Rotten City, Joe’s Bakery, Magic Wand, etc… have been included in playlists and mixes of Djs like Dj Harvey, Eric Duncan, Idjut Boys, Dj Kaos, Coyote, Bill Webster, Ivan Smagghe, Sasha and many others… Their tracks have been remixed by important artists such as Factory Floor, Rodion, Rigopolar, Damon Jee, Cabaret Nocturne, Mijo, Mi.Ro. They have remixed artists such as Dj Baldelli & Rocca, Roe Deers, Tronik Youth, Pin up Club, Dawad… Both their original tracks and remixes have been well reviewed by various artists such as Curses, Kris Baha, Richard Sen, Finitribe, Ancient Methods, The Hacker, Eric Duncan, Moliniari, Leonor, JP Soul, Alvaro Cabana, Local Suicide, etc. …. Thanks to which their creations have been heard on BBC radio programs, such as NTS, Beats In Space, and countries such as USA, Japan, Germany, Mexico, Lithuania, Australia, etc…    In 2014 they began a new relationship with the British label Nein, a label that in its short life has become a benchmark. In February of that same year they presented their EP “Teach Me” which was an appetizer along with two other EP’s and several remixes on the label itself of what would be their first LP “Close your eyes” in 2019. Thanks to this LP, from the hand of Neil Parnell aka Tronik Youth, head of the label Nein, they started to go to festivals like Alfresco Festival (UK), Yaga’s Gathering (LTU), Nous (FR), and parties in Berlin, Vilnius, Madrid, Biarritz, Tolouse, Paris, Barcelona, etc… being some of these visits to clubs of the Underground scene, like the Opium of Vilnius (LTU).
