Dantz Point Helsingborg: cultural exchange between Sweden and the Basque Country through electronic music
Dantz Point arrives in Sweden for the first time with Dantz Point Helsingborg, a new international edition of the program that will be held on Saturday, September 27, at two key venues in the city: St. Mary's Church (S:ta Maria kyrka) and The Tivoli cultural center.
During the day, Helsingborg will host a program divided into two sessions: a first session with free admission at St. Mary's Church (from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), and a second night session at The Tivoli (from 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.), in club format.
Thanks to the collaboration with Helsingborg City Council, The Tivoli, and the essential support of Musika Bulegoa and Etxepare Euskal Institutua, this event marks an important step in Dantz's internationalization program, promoting cultural exchange between Sweden and the Basque Country through electronic and avant-garde music.
The artistic lineup for this edition is spread across two iconic venues and features artists with a strong musical identity:
St. Mary’s Church (S:ta Maria kyrka)
— Bjørn Svin (Denmark/Sweden) is an influential producer and performer of experimental electronic music. Known for his innovative approach, his music is built on unconventional structures, sound manipulation, and abstract melodies that position him as one of the leading figures in avant-garde Nordic electronic music.
— LaMia Mari (Basque Country), an emerging Basque artist, will also perform in the church thanks to the support of Musika Bulegoa and the Etxepare Euskal Institutua. Her work fuses contemporary electronic sounds and urban aesthetics with an expressive and experimental approach, generating a fresh sound language that connects with new musical trends.
— FRDRK/DARKALLIES (Sweden) is Fredrik Nilsson's project, which explores the boundaries between ambient, minimalist techno, and atmospheric electronica. His music weaves introspective and textured soundscapes, offering an experimental and digital approach that will be presented in the afternoon session at St. Mary's Church.
The Tivoli
— Per Hammar (Sweden), one of the leading figures in Swedish underground house and techno, will be one of the stars of the night at The Tivoli. His sets are characterized by deep grooves, hypnotic atmospheres, and detailed production that mixes minimalism with high emotional charge.
— Kapitaina (Basque Country) is a DJ and producer representing the new wave of electronic music in the Basque Country. His style blends atmospheric techno, deep house, and melodic minimalism. His dynamic sets bring local influences to an international audience, adding freshness and sophistication to the electronic scene.
— TechnoTwins-Who Is Who (Sweden/Switzerland) is a pioneering duo that blends nostalgia and contemporary electronic music. Their music combines 80s synth-pop with modern techno, creating a hybrid experience that brings classic sounds into the present with danceable energy and experimentalism.
Dantz Point Helsingborg represents a new cultural connection between European territories through the common language of electronic music, expanding its borders and values through offerings with their own identity.
St. Mary's Church, also known as S:ta Maria kyrka, is one of the most emblematic spaces of Helsingborg's cultural heritage. Built in the 14th century, it stands out for its Baltic Gothic architecture and its altarpieces, stained glass windows, and medieval sculptures. This sacred space, of great symbolic value, is thus transformed into the setting for a unique sound experience.
The Tivoli, for its part, is a benchmark for contemporary cultural life in the city. Its program of concerts and artistic events make it a versatile, vibrant space committed to emerging creativity and cultural diversity.
